Musical projects as a composer and improviser

Compositions, improvisation in classical music,

and other works

Eira started taking singing and piano lessons at a young age, and immediately started composing small piano pieces. At high school she composed a musical with a chamber orchestra. Eira wrote the opera "Scenes from a Beehive" for her exam at The Norwegian Opera Academy.  Besides composing, she works with improvisation; both with contemporary music, in baroque music and with sources on how Mozart performed cadenzas and ornamentations. The way dancers and jazz musicians work is a source of inspiration, as Eira's work often develops in close collaboration with her collegues.
